Winter Springs, FL · Seminole County

Winter Springs movers who plan around gates, trails, and Florida weather.

Winter Springs is a family city: the average household has 2.6 people, more than one in five residents is under 18, and three in four homes are owner-occupied. Moves here mean Tuscawilla gates, townhomes at the Town Center on SR 434, and a school calendar to work around. Black Swan Moving’s Orange City crew maps out the access first, then handles the protection, loading, and room-by-room placement.

Winter Springs in one minute

A compact city of families and long-time owners.

Winter Springs sits on the south shore of Lake Jesup, about 20 minutes northeast of downtown Orlando. It started in 1959 as North Orlando, later took in Tuscawilla and its country club and golf course, and became the City of Winter Springs. It fits about 40,000 people into less than 15 square miles, and the city has been a Tree City USA for more than 35 years.

People come here and stay. More than nine in ten residents lived in the same house a year earlier, and nearly half of adults have a bachelor’s degree. The moves we see here include families moving up to a bigger home nearby, long-time owners downsizing, and commuters trading a long drive for a shorter one.

Moving with kids

A Winter Springs family move, planned around school.

With seven public schools inside the city and more than a fifth of residents under 18, many Winter Springs moves are family moves. The easiest ones are planned around the school calendar, not just the closing date.

  • Seminole County Public Schools enrollment lined up before the first day
  • Kids’ rooms packed last and set up first at the new house
  • Beds assembled and made up the first night
  • A safe spot for kids and pets away from the ramp and the doorways
  • Toys, bikes, and the garage sorted early

Timing your move

The Winter Springs calendar.

Heat, rain, and the school year change the pace of a move. A few choices make a big difference.

Back to school

Seminole County schools start in August. Families who move in early summer get settled before the first bell.

Summer afternoons

Heat and sudden storms are common. Morning starts keep the crew and your things out of the worst of it.

Hurricane season

Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Check the forecast the week of the move.

Weekends and month-end

Leases turn over at the end of the month, so those dates go first. Book early, or ask about mid-month.

Hometown Harvest

The city’s fall festival, one of its yearly community events with Celebration of Freedom and the Winter Wonderland parade.

Holiday weeks

No trash pickup on six holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plan move-out piles around them.

Absolutely amazing! When I tell you Bryant and his team are phenomenal I mean it. Incredible rates for extremely innovative and professional service! As someone who has moved several times over the last few years I’ve dealt with my share of good and bad moving companies. Black Swan is easily my new #1 moving company in Central Florida! They are innovative and efficient when it comes to their moving techniques and extremely friendly and personable which just adds to the experience. You can tell they take pride in their work and will be sure to take care of your belongings throughout your move. They quite literally rolled out a red carpet and took care of business. I am proud to support this business and will keep them in mind for any future moves! 10/10 would recommend.
