You arrange the truck. We bring the moving crew.
Already have transportation handled? Ask Black Swan Moving about labor-only help for loading, unloading, or both. We help with the hands-on work while you provide and operate the truck or arrange the moving container.
The truck is covered. The lifting still needs a plan.
Renting a truck or arranging a container can make sense when you want to handle transportation yourself. A moving crew can help with the loading and unloading work that takes strength, coordination, and careful placement.
Tell us what you need moved and how the pickup and delivery properties are set up. We can discuss the scope and whether labor-only service fits your move.

Help at both ends
If you need loading and unloading help, include both addresses and your timing so the full scope can be discussed.
Labor-only means you arrange transportation. The customer provides and operates the truck, trailer, or container. If you need a moving truck and crew together, ask about local moving service.
Good details make a better labor plan.
The amount of work depends on what is moving, how ready it is, and how the crew can access it. Sharing the practical details helps us discuss a realistic scope.
- Truck or containerTell us the type and size you arranged, and when it will be available.

- Access at each addressInclude stairs, elevator reservations, gates, loading zones, parking, and long carries.

Helpful details to include
- Moving date or preferred window
- Truck, trailer, or container type
- Loading, unloading, or both
- Pickup and delivery addresses
- Home, apartment, or business
- Stairs, elevators, gates, and parking
- Approximate inventory and large items
- What is already packed or prepared
How we load a rental truck or container.
A well-loaded truck rides quietly and unloads fast. This is the order our crews work in, so you know what to expect, and what to have ready.
1. Heavy and square first
Appliances, dressers, and other heavy, flat-sided pieces go in first, against the front wall, so the weight sits forward.
2. Build in tiers
Boxes and furniture are stacked in floor-to-ceiling tiers across the width of the box, heaviest at the bottom.
3. Tie off each tier
Each finished tier is strapped or braced so nothing shifts on the road. Tell us if your rental includes pads and straps.
4. Long and fragile last
Mattresses, mirrors, and tabletops ride on edge along the sides, padded, with nothing heavy leaning on them.

Have these ready, and the crew starts on time.
Labor-only crews are booked by time, so a ready truck and a clear path make every hour count.
- The truck or container is delivered, unlocked, and parked as close to the door as you can legally park it
- The loading ramp or ramp area is clear, and the ground is level
- If a container will sit on the street or in a shared lot, your HOA or city has approved it
- Pads, straps, and a dolly are on the truck if the rental includes them; tell us if not
- Boxes are packed, taped, and labeled, and drawers are emptied of loose and heavy items
- Beds and tables you want taken apart are on the list you gave us
- Hazardous items such as gas, propane, and paint are out of the house, since they can’t be loaded
- Someone with authority to make decisions is home for the whole job
In a Florida summer, the inside of a parked truck gets very hot by early afternoon. Morning start times are easier on the crew and on your belongings, and a cooler of water helps.
Labor-only help is still a regulated move in Florida.
You may be renting the truck, but under Chapter 507 a “mover” is anyone who is paid to load, transport, or unload household goods as part of a move. That means the people you hire to load or unload should be a registered mover.
Loading and unloading count
Florida’s definition of a mover covers loading and unloading as well as transport (section 507.01). Containers of 200 cubic feet or more count too.
Ask for the registration number
Florida movers must register with FDACS and show their number in their ads. Ours is Fla. IM No. IM3260. You can check any mover on the FDACS Business Search.
Get it in writing
Registered movers must give you a written estimate and contract before the work starts, listing each charge.
