Longwood movers for Historic District cottages, 17-92 apartments, and Wekiva-area homes.
Longwood sits between Altamonte Springs and Lake Mary on I-4, with a National Register Historic District near SR 434 and Rangeline Road, a SunRail station on Church Avenue, and a much larger mailing area that reaches west into Wekiva and Sabal Point. Black Swan Moving plans each move around the details that matter here: city vs. unincorporated utilities, twice-a-week trash day, HOA gate codes, and the SR 434 / US 17-92 traffic pattern.

Six kinds of Longwood moves.
Incorporated Longwood is compact, but the mailing area stretches west toward the Wekiva River. The moving day changes a lot from one side of Ronald Reagan Boulevard to the other.
Historic District & Rangeline
Near SR 434 and County Road 427 (Rangeline Road), the Historic District covers about 190 acres with 37 contributing structures, City Hall, and Reiter Park nearby. Expect older cottages, mature oaks, narrow streets, and low branches. We scout parking, lay runners on wood floors, and pad tight doorways.
SunRail & Church Avenue
The Longwood SunRail station at 149 East Church Avenue sits near Ronald Reagan Boulevard and the historic center. Apartment and townhome moves near the station often share loading space with park-and-ride traffic, so morning start times help.
US 17-92 & SR 434
Apartments, condos, shops, and offices line US 17-92 and the SR 434 crossroad. These moves turn on gate codes, building numbers, elevator or stair rules, and where a box truck can legally stop. Send us the leasing-office rules with your quote.
Ranch homes east & west of Ronald Reagan
Much of the city is single-story ranch and Florida homes with carports or one- and two-car garages. One-level homes load quickly. Most of the time goes to the garage, the shed, and the attic, so sort those spaces first.
Wekiva, Sabal Point & Sweetwater
ZIP 32779 includes master-planned and gated communities many people call Longwood even when the parcel is unincorporated Seminole County. HOA truck hours, gate codes, and larger lots are the usual planning details. Confirm who provides water before moving day.
Markham Woods corridor
North and west toward Lake Mary, Markham Woods Road runs past custom homes, wooded lots, and gated neighborhoods. Longer driveways and taller trees mean we check overhead clearance before we back the truck in.
Historic cottage or corridor apartment: how we plan each one.
Most Longwood moves start in one of these two kinds of homes. The crew, the truck position, and the timing change with each.
Historic District or ranch home
Quicker inside, careful outside.
- Truck position
- On the driveway or the closest legal curb spot, clear of low oaks and tight historic streets.
- Biggest time sink
- Garages, sheds, attic storage, and outdoor furniture.
- What we bring
- Door-jamb pads, floor runners for older wood floors, and dollies for long carries.
- Your prep
- Drain gas from mowers, empty the shed, and flag any low branches or septic areas if you know them.
Apartment or condo on 17-92 / 434
Controlled by the building, not the truck.
- Truck position
- Where the community allows, never in a fire lane or a reserved guest space without permission.
- Biggest time sink
- Stairs, elevators, breezeways, and the walk from parking to your door.
- What we bring
- Carts, hump straps, elevator pads when the building provides them, and a crew sized for your floor.
- Your prep
- Reserve the move window, get any insurance paperwork the association wants, and share the gate code.

Moving within Longwood, or up to Lake Mary?
Plenty of Longwood moves stay local: from a 17-92 apartment into a first house, from a ranch home to a smaller condo near SunRail, or across the city line into Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, or Casselberry. On a short move, most of the time goes to loading and unloading, not driving. See how our local moves work or what affects the price of a move.
Longwood’s noon cutoff for utilities.
Inside city limits, water and garbage are billed together. Applications after noon wait until the next business day, and Saturday moves need weekday planning.
- Apply before noonCall Utility Billing at 407-260-3470 (prompt 2) or visit 155 W. Warren Ave. Applications and deposits received before noon are turned in the same day.
- Budget the depositResidential deposits run $50 to $100 depending on the services, plus a $15 setup fee per new account. Bring ID and proof of the lease or closing.
- Start Duke Energy earlyElectric service is separate. Start Duke a week or two ahead so the A/C is on when the crew arrives.
- Schedule bulk trashFurniture and appliances you are leaving behind need an on-demand Waste Pro pickup. Call 407-869-8800. Regular trash goes out twice a week; yard waste is Wednesday.
Why a Longwood ZIP is not always a Longwood utility bill.
The incorporated city is small. The Longwood name on a mailbox can reach much farther west.
Check the parcel before you set up water
- 32750 vs. 32779. ZIP 32750 covers most of the incorporated city. ZIP 32779 covers a large western mailing area (Wekiva, Sabal Point, Sweetwater Oaks, and nearby streets) that is often unincorporated Seminole County.
- Who bills water and trash? Inside city limits, Longwood Utility Billing handles water, sewer, and residential garbage. Outside the city, it may be Seminole County Utilities, Sunshine Water, or another provider.
- HOA rules still apply. Gated and master-planned communities can require certificates of insurance, move-hour windows, and elevator reservations even when the city is not involved.
- Look it up once. The Seminole County Property Appraiser site shows the taxing authority and city limits for your exact parcel.

Longwood moving routes and how we plan for them.
Longwood sits on I-4 between Altamonte Springs and Lake Mary. Local moves are short when you plan around the commute.
| Route | What it means on moving day |
|---|---|
| SR 434 | The main east–west road through the city, from I-4 past Rangeline Road and US 17-92 toward Winter Springs and Oviedo. FDOT has resurfacing and intersection work planned along this corridor, so we check Central Florida Roads the week of your move. |
| US 17-92 (Ronald Reagan Blvd.) | The main north–south corridor. It also divides city trash days: west of Ronald Reagan is Monday/Thursday; east is Tuesday/Friday. It connects Longwood with Casselberry and Winter Park to the south and Lake Mary and Sanford to the north. |
| I-4 Exits nearby | I-4 is minutes away. Cross-county and long-distance moves start early to stay ahead of the Orlando–Lake Mary rush. Moves toward Orange City and our base usually hop on I-4 north. |
| Rangeline Road (CR 427) | Runs through and beside the Historic District. Narrower streets and older oaks mean we often stage the truck on a wider nearby block and walk pieces in. |
| SunRail at Church Avenue | Helpful if you commute to Winter Park or downtown Orlando, or need to meet the truck after work. Weekday trains only, so weekend moves do not conflict with station traffic the same way. |
What you will find once the boxes are unpacked.
A historic downtown, a commuter rail stop, and quick access to parks and the Wekiva River corridor.
Reiter Park
On West Warren Avenue next to the historic district, with an amphitheater, splash pad, courts, and community events through the year.
SunRail Longwood
Weekday trains north to Lake Mary and Sanford and south to Altamonte Springs, Maitland, Winter Park, and downtown Orlando.
Seminole Wekiva Trail
A paved trail through western Seminole County near many 32779 neighborhoods, popular for bikes and evening walks.
Wekiwa Springs State Park
A short drive west for swimming, paddling, and trails at the headwaters of the Wekiva River (Apopka address, Longwood backyard).
A bit of history: in the 1870s, railroad man E.W. Henck homesteaded south of Myrtle Lake and named the settlement Longwood after a Boston suburb he had helped lay out. The post office opened in 1876. The Historic District joined the National Register of Historic Places in October 1990. Today the city mixes that older core with SunRail, I-4 access, and the larger western communities that share the Longwood name.

Longwood moving questions.
Is my Longwood address inside city limits?
Not always. Incorporated Longwood is about 5.6 square miles and roughly 17,000 residents. Many homes with a Longwood mailing address, especially in ZIP 32779 (Wekiva, Sabal Point, Sweetwater Oaks, and the Markham Woods corridor), sit in unincorporated Seminole County. City limits decide who bills your water and trash, so check the parcel on the Seminole County Property Appraiser site or call City Hall before you set up services.
How do I start water and trash service in Longwood?
Inside city limits, City of Longwood Utility Billing handles water, sewer, and residential garbage. Call 407-260-3470 (prompt 2), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You need an application and a deposit of $50 to $100, plus a $15 setup fee. Applications and deposits received before noon are turned in the same day; anything after noon waits until the next business day. Give 24-hour notice when you cancel. Some addresses outside city limits use Sunshine Water or Seminole County Utilities instead.
Which electric company serves Longwood?
Duke Energy provides electricity for Longwood. Start service a week or two before moving day so the power and air conditioning are on when the crew arrives. Call Duke at 800-700-8744 or start service online.
What do I do with furniture I am not moving?
Inside city limits, Waste Pro collects residential trash twice a week: west of Ronald Reagan Boulevard on Monday and Thursday, east of Ronald Reagan on Tuesday and Friday. Yard waste is Wednesday citywide. Put carts at the curb by 7 a.m. Bulk items such as furniture, mattresses, and appliances need an on-demand pickup. Call Waste Pro at 407-869-8800 to schedule. Missed pickup or a new cart goes through Utility Billing at 407-260-3470.
Do you move homes in the Historic District near Rangeline and SR 434?
Yes. Longwood's Historic District is about 190 acres near SR 434 and County Road 427 (Rangeline Road), with older cottages, narrow streets, mature oaks, and low branches. We scout truck parking, protect wood floors with runners, and pad doorways that were built long before modern sofas.
Do you move apartments along US 17-92 and near I-4?
Yes. We move people in and out of apartment and condo communities along US 17-92, near SR 434, and around the I-4 exits every month. Send us the gate code, building and unit number, floor, and any move-in rules from the leasing office, and we will plan where the truck parks before moving day.
Do you also move Sabal Point, Wekiva, Sweetwater Oaks, and Lake Mary?
Yes. We serve all of Seminole County, including the western Longwood mailing area (ZIP 32779) and nearby Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Winter Springs, Sanford, and Winter Park. Many of those western communities are gated or HOA-managed, so share the gate code and any truck rules with your quote request.
How far ahead should I book a Longwood move?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most homes and apartments. Saturdays, the end of the month, and weeks when many SunRail-area leases turn over fill first. If your HOA or building limits move hours, book even earlier so we can match the window they give you.
Moving in, out of, or across Longwood?
Tell us about both homes: Historic District or western community, apartment or ranch, the floor, the gate code, and your date. We will plan the crew and the timing around them. Prefer to talk it through? Give us a call.
